“Several life experiences pointed me toward my career in care management and in-home care. I have advocated for family members struggling with mental illness and dementia, and I have been a long-distance family caregiver. Personally, and in my roles as a social worker and care manager, I have seen how important it is for older and disabled adults to have an advocate in the health care and long-term care systems. I think one of the great benefits of care management is that it allows clients to have someone “on their side” who will look out for their interests as they transition from one setting to another, whether they are in their home, the hospital, a rehabilitation center, or an assisted living facility. For family members near and far, Aging Life Care Management offers a direct line of communication, planning for what is coming next, and the peace of mind that an experienced professional is overseeing their loved one’s care. At Windward Life Care, I enjoy my daily interaction with our dedicated team of Aging Life Care Managers and Home Care Aides, helping them to problem-solve and be the most compassionate and effective advocates they can be for our clients.”
