Penelope Pongun, MSW, received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in gerontology from San Diego State University. Penelope began her medical social work and case management career working in hospice and palliative care, engaging older adults who face chronic illness and end-of-life concerns, as well as providing families with bereavement support. Penelope also volunteered for the Alzheimer’s Association of San Diego and has received training to work with older adults who have memory and cognitive impairments, including Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Penelope is a strong advocate for older adults and for policies that benefit the aging population.
“I am honored to be a part of the Windward Life Care team. My passion for older adults began when I was raised by my grandmother. I was captivated by her wisdom and wanted her legacy to be carried on for many generations. I enjoy providing professional guidance to clients and their families as they move through the aging process.”
